OPENING SCENE CANDIDATES
1. CULTURAL CENTER PROMENADE - DOWNSTAIRS
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/cckxc6wgxbcnv56/AACdwdRAoMBvyxaqibze2o2ha?dl=0
Pros
- Huge scope, lots of pillars to hide behind
- We can bring trucks in at certain spots
Cons
- May have an event going on during our shooting dates nearby, may make sound an issue, lots of tourists.
- A bit open for a "hidden meeting"
2. HONG KONG DOCKYARD
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/a5vbh37bihwmh1i/AAD9ETWqqGzOSbdMR7PTQe1-a?dl=0
Pro's
- the whole end of the dock can be controlled
- right in town for street chase transition
- location makes sense story wise - weapon may have just been smuggled in
- right next to Hong Kong High Rises with great harbor views
Con's
- will have a working dock behind us but it didn't seem too loud to shoot at - could almost be a pro.
- Can't shoot here on weekends
3. International Terminal Waterfront Promenade
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/voeg56ls71hsijf/AADum0temiPp6OScPEkWn0Mya?dl=0
Pro's
- terrific vista views
- East Avenue Of The Stars has a little better view but is also closer to the road (sound might be an issue)
- more remote and quieter
Con's
- the view from International Terminal Promenade looks great but it doesn't quite scream Hong Kong
4 - East of Avenue of The Stars
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/o12gyxwmneaxzm9/AACh3sQ4ZyzRa7cZF8kvUzlya?dl=0
Pro's
- terrific vista views
- East Avenue Of The Stars has a little better view than international terminal but is also closer to the road (sound might be an issue)
Con's
- road near East Avenue of the Stars may cause sound issues
1 - Shoi Shui Market Streets
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sm1mqrvyspxw24v/AABsTTa9wGc6h5GLvpLlQZCta?dl=0
Pro's
- lots of options in here for foot and truck chase - about 8 city blocks
Con's
- not many different looks to the markets as in Bangkok
- not as varied as Bangkok Markets and streets, which tend to curve and wind more and also allow TukTuk's and mopeds down the narrower streets
- Have to be very specific with what street, between which street block numbers and time of day we would use which streets
- street permit applications need to be made at least 3 weeks in advance
- no police support for truck/lorry driving through through the streets
2 - Kowloon City Streets
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pnkj2z6ldo6wk4t/AADCSrJyzgCGMK2BpxwGhSb1a?dl=0
- slightly wider than Shoi Shui streets
- better for truck fight scene
Smugglers Hideout - Weapons Recovery Locations
1 - HK Island Dockyard (if not used for the opening scene)
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yi4b3d2a2z7o6rg/AABPASCkOYbH0hxrZRCimbo-a?dl=0
Pro's
- the whole end of the dock can be controlled
- right in town for street chase transition
- location makes sense story wise - weapon crate is then seen on a boat leaving the harbor
- right next to Hong Kong High Rises with great harbor views
Con's
- will have a working dock behind us but it didn't seem too loud to shoot at - could almost be a pro.
- Can't shoot here on weekends
2 - TRADITIONAL FISHING VILLAGE
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zecde6h38mol2ir/AABtcfHewy6LL4L7tCMsyzFFa?dl=0
Pro's
- very different/unique look - could have Shepherd walking through the market and seeing all the boats (end of this video clip) before moving over to truck hideaway:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5tif82mhvxgryzg/IMG_0423.m4v?dl=0
- can close off the last car park area next to the white shed for the truck hideaway in MP4 clip found here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4q34j14kr0wvfvq/IMG_0420.m4v?dl=0
Con's
- is about 1.25 hrs from Downtown Kowloon
- is a working fishing village so need to not interfere with operations - best to film after around 10am
3 - Marina Dock
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jwemlk46rpkbowu/AACMMMuAqtY72L07RahMDO2Ra?dl=0
Pro's
- large and impressive - less of a working class feel to it
- lots of hiding spots
- only 20 mins from Downtown Kowloon (other side of the harbor from Hong Kong Island)
Con's
- can't film inside the big structures
- CAN ONLY BE FILMED ON SUNDAYS
Boat scene
Hong Kong Harbor
- both countries expressed the need to then hire a captain and crew for these larger vessels and expressed the crate (under a tarpaulin if we're doubling the weapon for an insert shot of the weapon back in the US?) would be the smartest/most maneuverable/cheapest option
Sampan Boats
- sail through the harbor on a regular basis - look great
- another traditional Hong Kong Stye boat - arguer than the Sampan - can have decking put over the hold and then have the crate placed prominently on this deck

- other versions of Asian inspired boats

We can absolutely get more options with modern, larger boats in needed.
